Meeting Minutes
The Wilton School Board has commissioned a diverse group of community members to lead the process of identifying constraints of the current school facility and brainstorming potential solutions. This committee meets regularly with ICON and the meeting minutes from those meetings will be shared here.
Staff Interview Results
To further understand how the building functions for students and staff, ICON hosted a day of meetings with the current staff members of Wilton Public School who work within the facility on a day-to-day basis and sent out a survey to receive additional input that wasn’t shared during the interviews. This document shows the results of the interviews and survey.
Facility Assessment
This document represents a review of the facility condition of Wilton Public School. ICON Architectural Group (ICON) teamed with Prairie Engineering to prepare this assessment. The facility assessment was commissioned to assist the School District with long-range planning and to address increasing enrollment and changing educational requirements. This assessment includes input from architects, educational planners, engineers, and District staff. The report identifies deficiencies within the current facility – code compliance, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, security, and educational adequacy.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Wilton School District has hired ICON Architectural Group and Consolidated Construction Company to conduct a facility assessment and generate a capital maintenance plan. The purpose of both documents is to understand the current school facility’s strengths and constraints and to identify items that are reaching the end of their useful lives or are in need of routine maintenance. The committee that the School Board has commissioned will then be using this information to brainstorm options and potential solutions.
